about

plato staromestska is a project to cover traffic road in the central part of the city and create a public space above it. The concept consists of implementing a pedestrian connection between the Castle Hill and the Old Town with a continuous communication element, a buckle, which will heal the scar from the 1970s renovations and offer a new, attractive, largely green space for residents and visitors to the city. The proposal includes covering the entire length of the street along the city walls (from the Cathedral to Klariská Street) with a continuous bridge 255m long, at a height of 4.7m above the existing road. A 25m wide (connected to Židoská Street) new public space will be created on its surface, offering a diverse program: from a green park with a water feature, a small amphitheater for cultural events, children's playgrounds, relaxing seating and space for café front gardens, especially several pedestrian connections between Židoská Street and the park walkway of the city walls. It is a catalyst for the repair and new use of the walls (for the public) and the city's inner blocks in the vicinity, the renovation of which is part of the project.
