ksa_studeny
Practice since 1995 ksa. (kopecky studeny architects), based in Prague, since 2009 in Bratislava leads by Jan Studený (studeny architects). The office has worked on projects and realizations ranging from the small scale of a private homes to the large scale of urban planning projects. Main attention focuses on architecture: from private assignments of family houses, living houses, public construction projects to the buildings for offices and production.
Current works
finallizing concrete module with a green roof in Pernek, projecting Dukla of Sports areal in Pardubice, reconstructions (vila Šulekova, Puškinova and Židovska apartment…), Devinska house in BA, Studies and competitions (Salezian’s Don Bosco in BA, pavilions in Prague’s ZOO).
History
the wooden cottage in Senec (1997) and the glass house in Stupava (2000) have received both local and international recognitions. A breakthrough project was the family house in Černošice, (CZ 2008) - selected on the European Prize for Architecture Mies van der Rohe Award in 2009. From the larger scale works significant are build-up studies of palace Istropolis (2007), studies for the Slovak National Gallery (2002 - 08) in BA, libraries in Prague - NTK(2004), cNK (2006) and participation on larger local developments: apartment blocks Spark (2009) and Borsa (2008) living estate.
Expositions
participant on the 8th International Architecture Exhibition of la Biennale in Venice in 2002 themed Next, solo at CS National Pavilion, subtitled Architecture without Architects, the 12th Iae of la Biennale in Venice in 2016 themed Care of Architecture, exhibition project for Petra Feriancova on the 11th International Art Exhibition of la Biennale in Venice in 2015.

research and teaching
JS leads studio A3 at the Academy of Fine Arts in BA (since 2011). Coop. on the program Shared cities with other european teams. JS has been lecturing on different public foras in Europe (Weimar, Kattowice, Prague, Vienna..).
ksa_studeny focuses research on different forms of future living. from low-consumption energetic models (Mnisek, Pernek, Breclav, Plejady) through composing algorithms of systems in Modular, to revitalizations of apartment houses in local environment (Vyšehradská). We work analytically on current topics of contemporary culture and its relationship with architecture and concrete connections with practical architectonic work.

the list of our clients includes societies and private investors, local as well as foreign. public organisations such as: National Gallery Prague, magistrates and local city organizations in Bratislava, Pardubice or Prague, Czech National Library, Slovak National Gallery..., from commercial societies we have worked with Gratex International (Borša), J & T Real Estate (Lomnica), Tatrareal (Istropolis), Grunt (Spark), Stillking Production (Barrandov, Stink), Euro RSCG (Expo58), Ogilvy&Mather, Ahrend, New City Development (Vyšehradská)..., we have also experience from working with private non-profit organizations as Bilgym high school.
Large share of our clients represent private investors, whom we offer complete architectonic project from the concept to its final realization, including interiors.
